    In Webalert, go to Integrations → Add integration → Prometheus Alertmanager, pick the escalation policy to page, and save. Webalert shows the receiver config with your URL and token filled in.

    Add the receiver to alertmanager.yml, or merge it into your existing route tree.

    Keep send_resolved: true so incidents resolve on their own.

    Reload Alertmanager, then use Send test event in Webalert or fire a test alert.

What Webalert does with Prometheus Alertmanager alerts

  • Opens an incident for each newly firing alert and pages the escalation policy.
  • Ignores repeat notifications for an alert that is still firing.
  • Resolves the incident when Alertmanager sends the alert as resolved.
  • Groups alerts into one storm incident when too many fire at once.

Who gets paged comes from your on-call rotation and escalation policy. Each person picks how they’re reached: SMS, phone call, email, push or Slack.

Does it page by phone?
Yes. Each person sets how they’re paged, for example SMS right away and a call after 2 minutes. Press 1 on the call or reply 1 to the SMS to acknowledge and stop the escalation.
What if nobody answers?
The escalation policy moves to the next level: the secondary, then the team lead, as many levels as you set. A page that can’t reach anyone escalates straight away.
