Is Bitbucket down for everyone or just you?

This is the question that matters most. Our checker requests bitbucket.org from our own servers, completely separate from your network — so the result reflects what the rest of the internet sees, not just your connection.

  • If we say it's down: the outage is real and affects everyone. You'll just have to wait until Bitbucket fixes the issue.
  • If we say it's up, but you can't load it: the problem is local to you — usually a DNS cache, a VPN, a firewall, browser cache, or your ISP. Try a different network and an incognito window.

What a Bitbucket outage looks like

A Bitbucket incident often hits developer workflows before the website: git push and clone time out, Pipelines builds stay queued, or webhooks stop firing while bitbucket.org loads. We check bitbucket.org from outside your network; Git operations, Pipelines, and the API are listed as separate components on Atlassian’s Bitbucket status page.

Typical issues: Git push/clone over SSH or HTTPS timing out, Pipelines queue delays, webhook delivery failures, pull request page errors, and API 5xx responses.

Official Bitbucket status page — we check bitbucket.org from our servers; their page covers components we cannot see from the public homepage.

Don't keep re-checking by hand

A one-off check only tells you about right now. Webalert checks your site every few minutes from multiple regions and alerts you by email or Slack the moment it goes down — free forever, no credit card.
